CPAP HELMET ON CAVALIER KING

Cavalier king male, 8 years old, chronic valvular disease (ACVIM D), being treated with:

Torasemide, Pimobendan , Benazepril, Spironolattone

He is send to PS for respiratory distress, tachypnea, and restrictive breathing pattern.

Eco-torace:  White lung  emitorace sx, b line singole e coalescenti  dx

Oximetry on arrival:  86%

The CPAP helmet with PEEP 5 cmH2O is put on (Resmart Smart CPAP Ventilator + Concentrator 10 l/min)

Administered 0.2 mg / kg intramuscular butorphanol, Torasemide 0.1 mg / kg intramuscular.

After 2 hrs:

• Respiratory rate goes from 80 to 55/60
• Saturation from 89 to 97

He is dismissed after 24 hours
