CPAP Therapy on Dogs

CASE REPORT 1
French bulldog: post-operative staphylectomy and plastic of the nostrils in patient with brachycephaly syndrome.
CPAP therapy with helmet (with venturi system integrated and silicone collar) and O2 concentrator with the following parameters:
- PEEP: 5 cm H2O
- FiO2: 35-40% (limitation due to the usage of O2 concentrator of only 10 L/min)
- Duration of therapy: 2 hours

CASE REPORT 2
Cavalier king with respiratory distress and heath stroke.
CPAP therapy with helmet (with venturi system integrated and silicone collar) and O2 concentrator with the following parameters:
- PEEP: 5 cm H2O
- FiO2: 35-40% (limitation due to the usage of O2 concentrator of only 10 L/min)
- Sedation with butorphanol to minimize the stress of work of breathing and to optimize the DO2
- Systematic arterial blood gas to monitor the ventilation
- Blood and biochemical monitor
- Duration of therapy: 3 hours
Discharged the same day.
