CASE REPORT 1

French bulldog: post-operative staphylectomy and plastic of the nostrils in patient with brachycephaly syndrome.

CPAP therapy with helmet (with venturi system integrated and silicone collar) and O2 concentrator with the following parameters:

  • PEEP: 5 cm H2O
  • FiO2: 35-40% (limitation due to the usage of O2 concentrator of only 10 L/min)
  • Duration of therapy: 2 hours

CASE REPORT 2

Cavalier king with respiratory distress and heath stroke.

CPAP therapy with helmet (with venturi system integrated and silicone collar) and O2 concentrator with the following parameters:

  • PEEP: 5 cm H2O
  • FiO2: 35-40% (limitation due to the usage of O2 concentrator of only 10 L/min)
  • Sedation with butorphanol to minimize the stress of work of breathing and to optimize the DO2
  • Systematic arterial blood gas to monitor the ventilation
  • Blood and biochemical monitor
  • Duration of therapy: 3 hours

Discharged the same day.
